I've just bought LiveSlice. I was using the 1.2 demo successfully in ACID 5. I replaced the demo with the full version. Rescanned the vst folder but now ACID 5 will only see LiveSlice as a VST effect! How can I solve this? Thanks!

2 hrs trying to fix this. Aaaargh!

Is there any way of deleting the VST log in ACID? ACID won't recognise LiveSlice whatever I do. It's not coming up as VSTi or VST. Filterscape VA has gone AWOL too!

Does ACID just ban certain VSTi's or something?

I've posted on the ACID forum but no response so far.

Anyone?

Go to that reg key (type regedit in the start menu/run box) and delete the value/folder called "plugs". do this with acid closed of course, and when you reopen acid, it will rescan and rebuild the entries. I have to do this quite often after uninstalling certain plugs and it works perfectly.

Wow! Thanks! I'll give it a try. It won't mess up my registry will it?

The VERY worst it will do is rescan your plug ins...that it, that's the maximum damage (in other words....nope, no reg damage at all.)

but....if you are a really wary kind of person, you can right click on the "plugs" folder, select to export it to your desktop, and if for some reason you aren't happy with the results of deleting the key, you just double click on the exported key and it'll add it back exactly as it was before.

It worked! You are a genius, sir! Legends will be told about you in the four corners of the world. How did you learn of this magic?

Purely through trial and error  :P Basically just tweaking other progs/windows entries you kinda get to know what does what etc.

I noticed the vst info wasn't stored in a file in the acid directory, so it had to be a reg entry, and i kinda narrowed it down...there was one particular day when i must have reinstalled acid about 10+ times due to my registry messing. (i once deleted the vstcache entry thinking that would force a rescan........oh my, what a bloody mistake that was  :P .....i've never touched that key since. )
