using PDA as a touchscreen midi input.

I've just managed to get my PDA working as a SECOND touchscreen monitor using the brilliant and simple SideWindow software by Innobec. You simply drag screens over onto the monitor, so for example you can get your sequencer to start and stop by pressing the screen PROVIDED you can position it and scale it just right to fit the small screen. Smaller vsti with chunky buttons are great for this purpose.
So..... what I need to find/design is just one SMALL fader that mimics a single fader on a hardware interface, so that when you use a function like "midi-learn" you simply touch the fader on the PDA screen and, voila, you have a touchscreen fader to waggle. You can then drag as many instances of this fader as you like onto the pda screen

any ideas guys ?

Yass, that could be handy. (heh)
Someone designed a little channel strip plug-in last summer, but I don't recall what it's called or who did it. :-(
I wouldn't care to use sliders this way, but an X-Y pad... that might be interesting to emulate using a stylus. Hmmm.

actually I've literally just seen this posted on kvr http://www.granucon.com/vms.html which, using a midi loopback prog like hubis, probably does what we both want ?
hope so

SUCCESS! I've got my PDA working as a midi X-Y controller with a vector interface, a la Korg's chaos pad.
I downloaded http://www.granucon.com/ virtual midi sliders. I selected "sonic foundry virtual midi 1" as my output. I routed both my keyboard midi device (MPU401) and this sonic foundry midi device to the same track in tracktion running an instance of sampletank.
Then in the virtual midi screen I routed slider 1 to cc 12 9 (attack). slider 2 to cc 13 (resonance). Next choose the green vectorscope thing. Route direction X to slider 1 and (four rows down) Y to slider 2.
You then launch innobec sidewindows, (which insists on windows service pack 2)http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=18675 drag the vectorscope over onto the pda screen and use the sidewindows settings screen to adjust the vectorscope size, so that it just fits the monitor. A bit fiddly, but hey.... korg choas on your PDA (ish!)

Well it'll certainly allow you to control the vectorscope, but as far as I can tell you cannot resize it. In an ideal world i think you'd want it full screen so that the whole of the laptop touchpad would control the whole of the X-Y vectorscope.

I just added a full screen mode to the vector controller so that will be possible in the next release
