I know theres no competision.

I hang around the net with alot of musicians that use sony Acid , im sick of telling them if they use cubase they'll have a much better ride in the long run.

could you please add more reasons here why they should be using cubase rather than Acid as im sick of telling them.

We need to have a new forum called "WHO GIVES A SHIT".

If you are happy with Cubase, keep using it. If they are happy with Acid, let them keep using it. If they aren't missing anything from the experience then why does it matter?

There is more than one kind of host for a reason.

Acid and Cubase are entirely different.

Acid is great for arranging pre-recordeed loops.

Cubase, however, blows it out fo the water for intial composition and interfacing with hardware.

But thats the whole problem , their forever having problems with softsyth's etc , and i keep telling them because Acid is crap at running softsynths.

Acid needs .Net framework to run which is a bugfest. It keeps crashing every five minutes on my machine. thats enough reason to drop it.I got rid of it way back. I think most sensible people started disliking it after it switched hands from sonicfoundry to sony for certain reasons.
If they want to switch something similar(rather better) which is also stable, they should consider 'Ableton live' instead of 'Cubase'.Ableton Live is also has full VST support.

Theres cracks that emulate a dongle, so if you really wanted to, you could go buy cubase, install it, then download the dongle crack. Don't know how legal it is but if I already own it, why would they give a shit?

(and no, I don't own Cubase)

If you can't convince them of your views, they're not really your friends. You need new friends - that post in the upcoming "Who Gives a Shit" forum with you.

I have license for both - use both - no comparison. Some people like the abuse of trying to use VSTi in ACID - of course, it helps if you're actually *ON* acid when attempting this...

Cubase Sucks, Sonar Rocks!

Host Sequencers are teh suck, lets all use Reason!

Omg teh Reason doesnt support plugs, lets use FL Studio!

Bwaha FL Studio has a shitty interface lets use Orion!

Aah Orion has limited routing stuff, and you can't close any windows .. lets try Ableton Live, it r0ckx0rs!

Omg Live is sooo backwards! Cubase is soo much better!

And so is the horrible cycle of hosts these days. This is why I wanna write my own host - not to make money, but to add to the confusion. Seeing confused people makes me happy.

By the way, any coders?
