Hullo people, I was wondering if some people in the know here could point me in the right direction concerning Amplitubes preset sound dubbed "Fusion Lead".
I find this tone suits my guitar and lead playing very well and was wondering what sort of hardware (real amps) I might need to aquire to get this sound.
Does anyone know what gear the preset is based on in particular?
It states that the preamp model is "SState Lead", the EQ model is "Tube American", amp model is "Tube 50w" and finally the cab is a "British 2x12".
All of the above make sense on their own but in terms of finding an amp set-up that is close to this, I don't know where to start..
Any help in this is greatly appreciated!

If you can find one, try an old Music Man amp from the late 70s- early 80s; I'll almost bet that's what it's based on. It had a solid state preamp and a tube power amp- and it came in a 2x12 version. I can't remember what speakers it came with; if it's loaded with Celestions, you've got it (and I'm sure at least some of them did).
A Marshall Artist is another possibility; that was a solid state preamp with a 30 watt tube power amp.

Aye! Good info there, some other people have said the same thing now. I will check out those amps.
However
I do like a responsive dynamic amp also, pick softly and the sound is clean but pick harder and it starts to distort, would I need a tube preamp for this?
Someone suggested a Laney GH50 for a british higain preamp sound as well but havn't had any experience with these yet.
Any thoughts?

The dynamics come from the POWER amp, and not the preamp for the most part. That's why the amps with tube preamp stages and solid state power amps don't have the same dynamic response as an all- tube amp; they'll sound fizzy instead.
Also, most tube preamps don't have enough voltage going on the tube plates to be dynamic; you'll see maybe 150 volts on the plates instead of the 300 or so that a 12ax7 will handle.
