Hi!

I'd like to see 3 Features in Liveslice:

1. A visualization which slize gets triggered by midi (like microdicer)

2. Drag n drop of slices to the host. Very important for me :)

3. A play mode like in Reflex, where the sample gets played from the slice to the end of the sample, instead of only the slice.

Is anything like that planned?

ciao, Markus

#1 sounds good #2 is planned and a +1 for #3. However, make #3 an option where one can toggle back and forth to desired playmode on the fly. So maybe a CC/note to switch playmode from the slice on, or just the slice.

Edit: then again, you could technically just shift the loop (in arrangement) to start at the desired slice postion and it'll continue on from there.

#1 added to the list, #2 already planned, #3 sounds interesting, but is it useful enough to warrant a new feature? As the Pharaoh points out: you could acheive it by shifting the loop - it's quite quick to copy the arrangement 16 times - just select it and then right click on 15 empty slots.

Thanx for the response! Happy to hear that some things are planned!
As I mainly work with midi without the arrangement, this copying would be too slow, as I would have to do it very often. Automatic slicing is all about speed.

I think this (kind of simple) feature does make very much sense and speeds up the workflow! I know many people would love it :) Reflex shouldn't be the only slicer that does it! 8)

Please tell me more about how this works in Reflex, and how you use it creatively - ie how it speeds up the workflow.

In the demo of Reflex this is the standard play mode: Every loop gets played til the end beginning from the slice you trigger.

The main advantage of this mode is when you play loop variations _live_ via midi and record it. It's a kind of mixture between playing standard drumset samples and mere loops. You get cool variations very fast and a feeling what works with the loop and what not. The limitation that it only plays the slices forward in time becomes somewhat an advantage. I'd like to try out many loops this way and therefore it would be cool if there would be a playmode like this!

I'm starting to get the idea - sounds pretty useful actually. Wouldn't it be better though to keep it playing in a loop, starting from the slice you trigger, and keep playing until the key is released? If you trigger the last slices you wouldn't expect it to suddenly just stop after playing one or two slices when the others kept playing.

Yes, that playing in a loop would be even better!
Back in the days when there were no slicers I emulated this technique by manually slicing a sample and copying the "tail" onto it. Today I do it by feeding a chord midi plugin with 16 voices into an arpeggiator, but it can't be played fast. So it would be nice to have it in a slicer!
