I've been looking at XF Extreme and was wondering if this is a good package......about $299 so street about $250. It sounds rather cool.
Anyway, wondering before I drop anything on it, having Absynth, is there something better for Sound Design (thriller) that I should look into? The problem with something like XF extreme is that it may be limited on sounds....whereas Reaktor/Absysnt, viracube, etc might over more tayloring, then there is tassman too, but I like the idea of plug and play and get going....basically I need Sound FX in the vain of thriller stuff. (Grudge)...
thanks.

FX Extreme is a Rompler (are we talking about the same thing?), a very nice one.
I would say if you need to get results quickly and don't have time to sit a tweak things, FX is your best friend, but if you are a tweaker this is not for you.
I am more into acoustic music but I am so impressed with this plug it's on my shopping list.
BTW did you download the demo?

I friggin' love it...there are some amazing sounds and while it is not as deep -tweak-wise- as some other synths, there are loads of tweaks to be had. It is similar to Atmosphere in concept. Additionally, there are loads of varieties of sounds - all of which I, personally, find to have great musical applicability.
