What UAD plugins for mastering?

Hi,
I currently have the UAD Projekt Pak + LA2. I'm now searching for ways to master my songs. I tried Ozone2 and I'm sure one can get as good results as with anything with it. But as I now own the UAD card, I might as well buy plugins for mastering instead of ozone. So what does this chain look like for mastering?:
Limiter->Fairchild->Pultec
I'm sure the mastering EQ is great, but I guess I could get great presence with the pultec. I also like a bit of stereo widening, but there doesn't seem to be a specific plugin for that. I've heard that you can get a bit of widening with the fairchild?

On the main I put pultec-pro -> 1176LN (long attack) -> 1176LN (mid attack) -> 1176LN (fast attack) -> pultec-pro -> limiter
I usually put the fairchild (in lat-vert mode) on a 2buss (with a pultec-pro after)
The 2 buss acts as a Mid/Side compressor to glue the stereo image and the 3 at main 1176LN dampens volumes with great coloring/distorsion

uhh, what lex? you put three limiters in a row, then pultec and ANOTHER limiter? WTF? can you explain this?
not trying to be rude, just curious as to why you do that
normally on the master mix IF I choose to limit, I only use one and I don't change the threshold below 0, I just use it to smooth peaks.

Well, the 1176ln is more of a character compressor and is set to low ratio, meaning they do more auto volume adjust then limiting. The color is the most important factor and the audio is hitting every 1176 very light and do almost no gain reduction, just coloring of the material at different attacks (2x1176 with different attacks in serial is also a good trick for any single instrument tracking).jasonsantiago wrote:uhh, what lex? you put three limiters in a row, then pultec and ANOTHER limiter? No problem, it just sounds good (noo, not loud, just good and sweet)jasonsantiago wrote:not trying to be rude, just curious as to why you do that
the 1176s will autolevel the mix (gently that is) and the limiter is just to make sure it doesnt distort on the CD.jasonsantiago wrote:normally on the master mix IF I choose to limit, I only use one and I don't change the threshold below 0, I just use it to smooth peaks.
I must also mention that I also use the silver 1176 if the 1176ln is to "brown/dark" for the mix...
But in the end its more about "glue" then levels...
I usually do all large level changes with automation.
... try it out, it can ruin the mix or just put that magical finishing sparkle on it...

The Precision Limiter & Eq are good mastering plugs.
My favorite comp was (I got new favs now) Fairchild even though it reduces a lot in the bass frequencies.
I guess the new multi from UAD might be an excellent mastering plug?

The new mastering plug from UAD looks a bit cheesy, but it might be great though... hmm, should I wait for it or not?
The Fairchild does loose some bass, but that might not a bad thing. Anyway, it can be compensated with the pultec.
