:help: i have been using fl5 for a while and for some reason have never ran into this problem before: whenever i mixdown to wave now, i get glitches and stuff in the file.

it is basically a warbbling sound that is over the sound. i ahve tried using different instruments, drivers, settings, and configurations, but i cant figure it out!!!

i even went to the extent of trying 16/32 bit encoding with all five types of interpolation, going through all of my driver options (directsound, ac97, asio4all, asiofull duplex, and asio multimedia) with different buffer sizes.

any help would be greatly appreciated

here is my setup, if it helps:
amd athlon 64 3000+
windows xp home
1.5gig ram
asus mobo with onboard audio

thanks in advance!

What kind of plugins are you using?
Shreddage 3 Stratus: Next generation Kontakt Player guitar, now available!

Impact Soundworks - Cinematic sounds, world instruments, electric guitars, synths, percussion, plugins + more!

could it be a samplerate related problem? i remember reading of a similar problem recently (though not in FL) and it had to do with sample rates.

it is a big song, with about 30-40% cpu usage

i am using microtonic 2, evp73, battery 2, fabfilter one, and string studio

Are these clicks totally not there during your mixing process or do they show up exclusively after the mixdown?

If only after the mixdown, perhaps the software you are opening the resulting wav file in has something going on in it. Do the clicks show up in the waveform?

Oh, it just occured to me that I had a similar problem in Orion a long time ago and the culprit turned out to be a compressor. It was either the digitalfishphones or the E-phonic one. I use FLStudio now, though I don't use either of those comps anymore.

it doesnt show up at all during the mixing process, and the "warbling" was present in ableton live and cubase se.

it also shows up in every wave file that i mix down, without fail, it is just the most obvious in the lush rhodes sound.

this doesnt happen when i mix to .mp3, so i might do that if worse comes to worse. i need these for live use, as i use a laptop in my live show

i am getting a presonus firebox soon, so i am hoping that will fix the problem

If it is playing fine live for you, just bounce down the master mixer track to disk and use that wav for now.

Post

how do i bounce it without exporting it

and beacause i plan on putting it all back together in ableton live to play live, should i just render it in high quality mp3 format to import it?

Post

To bounce it, you just click on the disk icon for the master mixer track. Then turn on recording by clicking the big record button. Then just play your song and it will be recorded and placed as an audio clip.
