I'm new to Tracktion 2.
I want to 'step record' some MIDI onto a new track but can't figure out how to do it.
I set up the track for MIDI . . . but neither the 'step' button nor the 'pencil' tool are visible.
Help!

You need to:
a) expand the track that contains the midi clip (by double-clicking, dragging or using the 'z' shortcut)
b) hover over the clip with the cursor.
Now you should see the MIDI tools.

Thanks for the replies, but that doesn't solve the problem.
I dealing with a new track . . . there is no midi clip in it yet. I want to record one in step mode.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
