Before I get flamed about posting this, here's a little disclaimer for you....I haven't read the article yet because i'm on my way out, and decided that, isntead of making myself late by reading the story, I'd make myself late by posting a link to it here.

So i have no idea what it says, how true, or how doubtful it really is. Just figured if it has any truth to it at all, everybody here using earbuds with their IPOD's might like to know. The headline says that they may damage your hearing.

So, read on HERE and let post up so I know what the verdict is when i get back.

HELL YEAH! screw those teeny boppers and thier deaf ass ears - i say to hell with earbuds! I'm down with the big poofy earmuff type- I used to skateboard with my old black&decker tape deck (black flag stencil on it) and big ass koss headphones. No excess noise - and a happy ride had by all - the tape? RHCP- Freaky Stylie

people play their portable music players too loudly.. causing potential hearing loss.

they just threw in the 'ipod' term to make it common to today's audience..

the same could be said about the walkman in times past..

but it's about the ear-buds man - the ear-buds.... we should all wear poofy headphones- I don't like my music to sound like a soda can anyway.

I prefer those KOSS earbuds with squishy foam things that seal themselves into your ears and shut out noise. Sometimes I just leave them in even when I'm not listening to music, so I don't have to listen to people jabbering at work

Yep, they've been saying this forever. About concerts, playing music in your car too loudly, walkmans, etc.

right but if you notice in the article, they compared the max volume of an ipod to a lawnmower. i don't know if this is accurate but, meh, I don't like i pods. i am the enemy of apple. or at least one of many. If they'd have stuck to phone phreaking, i think i might respect them....

In europe the max volume the IPod can play at is less than in america due to EU regulations. though you can dl'ed a hack to override the limit.

When I used an mp3 player I wore some nice big closed sennheisser headphones with it.
Those little bud things sound shite, damage your ears & I find them uncomfortable personally.

For $350+ they'd damn well better be an improvement over the $10 Koss's.
