New installed Cubase 3.1.1.944 crashes at start!??!?? Help..

Hi all,
I've been using Cubase 3.0... for awhile, until last night when my computer was dead... I reinstalled Windows XP SP2 and then reinstalled Cubase SX 3, went to steinberg.net to download the latest update (3.1.1.944.) The installation was fine, restarted the machine and start Cubase... Get this error:

"A serious problem occurred.... ... ..."

I look at the log file and see this:

"Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION
Fault address: 03A59D82 01:00008D82 C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase SX 3\audioprimitives.opt"

Any idea what happened???

I don't know what I did, reinstalled it COUPLE TIMES solved the problem! It's running smooth now :)
