Looks like rumours of the death of improv giant Derek Bailey are true.

Another hugely influential player gone.

Read about it last week. I've grown to be a big fan in the last five years. I'm happy some of his work made it to recordings before his death, since for so many years it was near impossible to find recordings. Wish I had seen him play live.

one of the coolest music experiences i had was seeing Derrick Bailey perform with a percussionist in a tiny theater as part of a class i was taking...in fact, the entire audience was the class! included a Q&A... a very cool guy, a true innovator and huge impression/influence....very sad news....
