What it does in Miroslav is even the tip of the tip of the iceberg. CSR sounds AMAZING! I have a pre-release version and this is exactly what I needed. I have AltiVerb and some other great convolution reverbs that are ideal for creating virtual acoustic spaces. But, for emulating that classic studio reverb unit such as an AMS or a Lex etc. this hits the nail on the head. Plus it can do some really deep programming tricks too which I haven't even experimented with yet myself (has a full modulation matrix in there... kind of like a Lark as well).beergeek wrote:I see that CSR is going to be at namm....I love what it does in Miroslav...any word on release??
There's something else about it that I cannot say yet but I think some of you will REALLY like. Something that makes it more accessible... that's all I can say.

Squids,
You certainly didn't need to sell me
BUT...I'm assuming that you don't have any word on possible release dates...
Ah c'mon...hook a brother up

Well, you know, when I write I also write for everyone. Maybe someone else would read it and think "hmmmm... sounds tastey!" which it is. I mean, we're all gear sluts to different degrees and almost every one of us would love to have our very own high end studio. So, software emulation makes that more realistically possible and affordable (not to mention other benefits like total recall, multiple instances etc.).
Release dates? Hmmmm. Could even be this month. It seems awefully close to ready! I guess at NAMM there will be an official press release about CSR so we'll find out the scoop in a week. But, from what I am seeing it looks like CSR, AmpliTube 2 and Ampeg SVX should all be coming out either end of this month or some time early next. That's just my unofficial guess though. For some people that could mean getting your funds ready so if that helps any... we'll put it on pre-order on www.esoundz.com after NAMM. That should also give a good sign.
A lot of exciting new products coming!

Or what? Lower CPU usage...hmm...

This may have been posted before and I can't even remember where I found it since it doesn't appear to be linked from the ik site....

Street price will a little over three hundred. That's a lot less than the equivalent sounding and featured hardware reverb! So, for the studio owner who wants to pay "Alesis" prices for an "AMS" sound.idragosani wrote:I know where my tax refund will be going... any idea of a general price range for CSR?Squids wrote: Release dates? Hey that's actually affordable! They just announced bonuses in my company, I know where I am going shopping... (don't quote me on that of course). But, you get the idea. We all have "decent" reverbs at least in our hosts but do we have a really deep and great sounding algorhythmic reverb (that isn't just TDM or attached to a PCI card)?

Yes, esoundz will be selling CSR. In fact, it could be going on pre-order very soon. I will let you all know when I know more.idragosani wrote:Hey that's actually affordable! Hi Dave,
Hopefully you can confirm this ... will CSR be using the Syncrosoft protection? It's not a huge problem if it does (I'm using SX3 and the Korg Legacy DE), but if it's as CPU intensive as I expect, I'm hoping to off-load it to one of my other machines. So, since I've never tried that over FX-Teleport with dongle-protected software (maybe I should?), I thought I'd ask anyway. This is really the "last" reverb that I'm interested in. I'm really hoping that you're not just blowing smoke about how great it sounds. We all know how good a salesman you are.
And the answer is ... ?

The "tip of the iceberg" version that is included with Philharmonik sounds pretty damn nice...MacQ wrote:Hi Dave,

On the topic of reverb technology, can someone point me to some technical details of the differences between impulse reverbs and algorithmic reverbs (of which CSR is the latter). I did some searching on Google and all I got was commercial sites selling plugins...

Its Trizz. I'm not a salesman (per say), and I love the damn thing. Besides being "the esoundz bitch", I also get to beta test some of IK's newer stuff. The CSR reverbs are amazing, from musician to musician. It can be as easy to operate as you want or as advanced as you want...and from what I've experienced so far, it's way less CPU intensive than IR-1 (running on an AMD 3200+ OC'd @ 2.35 - 11.5x/1.675v). Expect great things from this plug, honestly. If you like T-Racks as a mastering plug-in, you'll love the CSR as a reverb plug-in. Remember, I don't benefit if you buy it or not, I just thought I'd share my opinion.
Trizzle. Out.
