I've still got the album 'Stranded'. :D
Haven't played it for yeeeears.

Just looking at the sleeve notes now...
Rod Edwards and Roger Hand
with John Wetton on bass
Sleeve design by Klaus Voormann
Produced by George Martin

I seem to remember it not being very great, but maybe time will have made me more receptive to it, I'll sling it on the deck later. :)
I think I preferred side 2 - 'Stranded' / 'Winter' / 'Death Of A Man' IIRC. :D
Nicely reminded. 8)

The Buckinghams

Remember "Kind Of A Drag" and "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy". Great songs.

Vashti Bunyan

I've been listening to 'Just Another Diamond Day' quite a lot recently - a lovely album. Must get out and buy her new cd sometime soon.
Fourth Mansions - putting the "ick" into music.

I share your appreciation for the Bill Fay group - strange subject matter for a balladeer, but that's what makes it so special. 'Time of the Last Persecution' is a classic!

Any particular reason for asking, putte?

In 73 I listened a lot to Tudor Lodge's first album. This one and Magna Cartas's "Songs from wasties orchard" and "5000 Spirits" from the Incredible String Band where a guaranty for a smooth psychedelic experience or just a good relaxed time.
It's about time for the past to end

well, i know the buckinghams as they are from from Chicago and they used to play them quite a bit on the oldies rock and roll radio...but about 6 months ago they removed the oldies, since replaced by another so i haven't heard them i quite awhile....i also heard a show dedicated to them where they played a few more tunes and perhaps less well known numbers(while i was working, i don't remember much)...they also play the song "Susan" as well?

if you could point to some examples of the other acts (never heard of them), i'd be obliged....

note: i have become a fan of the pop music of the 60's over the last 15 years or so...my son has noticably become interested in some of the older music i like, while driving my kids to their grandmothers' for this last weekend, my boy was seeming to really dig the "oldies" on the radio (the new radio channel), i tend to sing along with songs...as opposed to getting pissy as most do, he bobs his head like crazy...chip off the old block, my friggen pride and joy....the kid loves good music, likes some current stuff as well, digs rock, weird sounds, aggressive synth shit...my f**king BOY!!!!
KVR: come for the music, stay for the polemics and grammar lessons...
