ORION Platinum Version 6.2 update is available from www.synapse-audio.com. The big new feature is that Maxx Claster's awesome TOXIC 2 has been integrated as a new Generator. It looks and functions just like the VSTi and adds an FM synth to the arsenal, to go along with the 3 V/A's, Wavetable, Wave-Morphing, Plucked String, 2 drum-synths and 2 samplers [drum and multi-sound] we already have.
The main configuration file has also been altered so that Playlist colours can be customised, finally.

I doubt it will happen. Rich isn't interested in stuff like that, he likes doing straight audio things.

Then again, I've been getting more and more into Linear sequencing rather than pattern sequencing anyway ... Someday I should write a simple host (or maybe FL Native Plugin, if its spec allows it) that allows me to do linear sequencing while still retaining all of FL's other stuff ... in time, no time right now to even make much music (why am I on KVR then?

Update after update after update after update after update after update after.....
Orion is becoming as bad as FL studio with all these updates. None of these updates are even essential to music making, just more eye-candy and unnecessary things that you don't need.
Ridiculous !!!!!!
I could'nt care less about this update.

I'm not an Orion owner (I was about to be but Orion didn't record audio at the time and finally I chose FL) but man, why complain if you get a wonderful FM synth for free?

Including Toxic is a nice move (IMO), i've gained tht impression that it is a very capable synth.
automation pattern tracks?
I'm not very au-fait with how orion handles automation - so I don't get what your refering to.
I thought orion was essentially pattern based?

From what i can tell, Image Line are fixing a now broken host (5.02c was/is a rock,) not "improvong" it.

Yes, but Orion's automation is still linear. I like automating alot and I also like rearranging songs alot. This is easy in FL where I put automation in a separate empty pattern which I can move around with the rest, but with Orion I'd have to manually fire up the event editor and move around each time for each automated parameter...diverdee wrote:Including Toxic is a nice move (IMO), i've gained tht impression that it is a very capable synth.

Of course, Reason's way would be good too where the automation is grouped with the notes but you can choose to move each around separately on the sequencer.

That must be something they nicked from ORION. All you have to do is check the box in the Playlist's CFG dialog to move instrument and/or mixer automation with patterns.arke wrote:Yes, but Orion's automation is still linear. diverdee, ORION has automation at both pattern and song level, although it's slicker in patterns.

That's why FL is looking more like a telephone exchange these days than a sequencer.
You can spend the rest of your life downloading updates with very little music to show for it.
