a host for sysex need I!

I'll explain briefly: I use FL and a hardware synth I love. FL doesn't accept sysex messages so i can't easily store the settings of my sounds into FL. On the other hand, my synth's memory is really short (amnesiac synth), it's very limited, so I can't store my sound settings easily either.
I was looking for a host which store and send sysex messages so I can store my sounds in it; But I don't want to spend too much money, so I don't want to buy Cubase, Sonar...because, apart from the money, I want to keep using FL as my main host.
Any ideas? advice?
thanks in advance, mates.

Why not just use MidiOx to record/send SysEx?
If your synth doesn't properly save programs into its' NVRAM - you probably need to change the battery that feeds it

Its not a perfect solution but check out MidiOx. It sends and recieves sysex. It will let you back up your data. Only issue is its not a host...so you would have to restore the synth and then use FL to do the rest.

Of course I have to plug the program I am selling as well. MidiQuest 9xl will load and save sysex, allow patch editing, and can run as a VST so you could load it into FL
I sold most of my synths though so I dont use it much if any now and am trying to sell.

I'd like to know if it does it. I've been interested in eXT actually.will eXT do this? If so, it's the perfect solution.
Yes yes I know, but I can't use it inside FL, so I'd have to store the sysex into the synth i guess, and later restore...don't like it a lot...Why not just use MidiOx to record/send SysEx?
yes I know this program and seems very interesting. actually it would seem exactly what I need, but since I've read many people saying it doesn't work properly...MidiQuest 9xl will load and save sysex, allow patch editing, and can run as a VST so you could load it into FL

It all depends on which synths your using. I have been using it for a few years and never had problems. I had a D-550, Matrix1000, M1R-EX, Spectrum Analog Filter, Wavestation SR, KMX 8x8, KMX-16, TX-802, MKS-50, and TX-81z. Not to mention a few non-supported synths that while I couldnt edit them I used it to back up my patches via sysex. I would say download the demo and see if it fits you. Even if you dont buy my copy it is a good program. Just make sure that you keep up and download the latest instrument definitons from the ftp site. The ones that come with it are a little buggy for some synths and a few seconds of download time can make things very stable.origami wrote:yes I know this program and seems very interesting. actually it would seem exactly what I need, but since I've read many people saying it doesn't work properly...

My synth is an Access Virus Indigo 1. I've downloaded the demo, but i can't find the way to make it work as a vst. must be doing something wrong, as always...

The VST functionality is only in the XL version as well is the instrument creator and some midi utils. But the program is the same as a VST or stand alone. So if you like the way it works as a standalone the VST should be the same. Definaly download the newest update for the synth. That is one that is on their ftp site...its probably much more stable.
