Hi there!
I use three keyboards that I have attached to the computer. I like to change the tracks from my external gear. In eg Cubase I can assign several tracks to one MIDI input and via a Midi Input Filter I can change the track choosing a MIDI channel with my masterkeyboard (all tracks are armed but only receives the Midi Data).
Tracktion2 allows to assign a Midi-Input to ONE Track only?
There is no Midi input Filter on track-level (only a global one that works per Input)?
Is that correct? Maybe I am just blind?
Is there an easy workaround?
Did you understand what I want?
Thanks for comments.

well ... id do it this way ...
(youll need the free ndc MIDIChannelFilter available (amongst other fine plugins) as part of the ndcMIDI pack from http://www.niallmoody.com/ndcplugs/ndcmidi.htm ... or some similar MIDI filtering VST plugin)
1 > enable your MIDI controller as usual

2 > create a new empty rack filter and call it MIDIfilter or similar ... do nothing to this except just connect its MIDI input direct to its MIDI output ...

3 > drag an instance of this rack into the track your MIDI controller is attached to
4 > drag other instances of this rack onto the tracks controlling the VST instruments you want to play (make sure the MIDIfilter rack is BEFORE the VSTi in the signal chain

5 > add an instance of the ndc MIDIChannelFilter plugin after each if these instances of your rack filter (EXCEPT the first one thats on your MIDI controllers track)

6 > adjust each of these MIDIChannelFilter plugins to allow through only the channel you want to use to play the VSTGi on that track (in my example cronox3 is only 'hearing' channel 1 ... minimonsta channel 2 ... and sytrus channel 3) ...

7 > switching channels on your MIDI controller should now just play the VSTi 'listening' to that particluar channel ...
... looks complex but REALLY isnt once youve got your head round it (dont forget you can ctrl-click-drag to copy filters from one track to another and then adjust each copy individually rather than opening the filter tree / menu each time) ...
... good luck ...

Thanks a LOT. Very nice to post pictures. It will take some time before I can try out, but I'll post my experience. I used to be very satisfied with Cubase Audio running on an Atari Falcon. Cubase VST and later on SX are to complex for me. I think I'll switch to Tracktion for its easy interface. Right now I'm just fiddling with the demo.

Hi,
The described setup works for playing - BUT
if I record the playback is only on the channel the first ("MidiFilter") track clips are set to. The clips don't contain the original channel information anymore? (eg Cubase has CH 1-16 AND an "ALL" setting for leaving the channel info intact).
Ooops:
I just realised that there is a dedicated Raw Material subforum.
... some search brought up this thread:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... t=midiyoke
there still is no solution for this problem?
