How to achieve the cutoff/res link like on sonalksis tbk?

maybe this is a silly question,
but as sonalksis tbk claims to do the cutoff/res combination automatically - how would one set the relationship on different filter plugins. what would the formula look like? because i heard it is essential for filtersweeps to adjust the res slope according to the cutoff slope?!

any thoughts on this topic are greatly appreciated!
