Hi from the Clone Ensemble cloister,
Is there a market for this? I've needed this a few times... Dunno, so it's another freebie.
Steroid Bouncer is a processor for "dual-mono-stored-as-stereo" audio data.
Ever loaded up a sample library and discovered that the "stereo" samples are not really stereo? Classic examples:
* Upright bass with mic on the left, piezo on the right
* Bass drum with one mic panned left, a very different one hard right
* or... have you ever needed to tame a track where the panning was just a bit too radical?
The drill is: split the track into two mono tracks, process each one separately.
Steroid Bouncer saves time and bother in these situations. You get independent mixing, panning, EQ and (delicious) overdrive control over each channel of a "stereo" track.
Nothing high-tech, just a damn useful idea.
...and totally free - no nags, lo-fi output, timeouts or beeps.
Feel free to toddle over to www.cloneensemble.com for a look.
ciao,
Trevor Magnusson
