AU plugins and pro tools on Mac os X

I'd really like to be able to use the built-in apple AUmatrix reverb in pro tools LE. Is this possible? If not, is there a way to host AU plugins through Audacity?

You cannot use it in PTLE. They only support RTAS and VST(through the FXPansion adapter).

You may be able to use JackOSX to route it through another application, but I've not tried it.
