heard something through the grapevine that the new waves SSL emu is just Q-clone with SSL samples and a fancy GUI..

anyone hear something similar?

That might work with the EQ (although it'd need a serious library of samples) but it wouldn't work with the compressor.

Yeah....convlution infused with dynamics processors is a little more complicated.....at least if the user is going to be able to actually change the settings.....I'm sure there is some facet of the Q-Clone technology build into it...but I doubt it's a repackaged Q-Clone.

Still; I'll take it! I don't have an SSL desk kicking around, or decent microphones, for that matter.

A little complex for you average PC to run whilst running a recording app amd other plugs though, non?

im glad track freeze works as well as it does, because it seems like all the new plugins are monsters...

That's how it always goes; I remember struggling to use two instances of PPG Wave 2 without bouncing!

It still wont sound like an SSL. It will sound like an SSL being played through yer meager non SSL A/D converters.

Difficult to judge from the video, but they did seem like they would sound pretty nice.

Not worth the money to me though, already got plenty of EQ's and compressors...
