Scot does a MUON song...about Har?

"A Sklar!" said Har, under his breath, "in the yard..."

"What was that, dear?" came his wife's voice from the hall.

He could see the skulking figure of the Sklar from his sitting-room window, but thought the better of repeating himself. No matter, he would not be believed. His physicians assured him that the Sklars were just figments of his over-stimulated imagination. And they were probably right. Thinking it was very likely best to ignore the creature, Har returned his attentions to his morning paper. He would erase the Sklar from his thoughts. Still, it would not be easy to vanquish the image of the beast gnawing hungrily on the neighbor's children...

The above song actually has nothing to do with dear ol' Har, other than two things: First, he's got the coolest name I have ever heard. I wish I had made it up for one of the characters in my songs. Since I didn't, I decided to purloin it for the title of this one. Secondly, for the upcoming 56th (I think) issue of Computer Music I have painstaikingly sampled my Hammond M3 (The Baby B, like the one used on "Green Onions"). I then used those samples to create some killer organ patches and multis for the DS404. One of them, used in this song, shares the song's name.

This is a Muon-only song. Made with all things Muon, and only Muon. Here is what I used:

DS404 with the above mentioned organ multis (including the bass pedals), as well as some analog patches made from my Prophet 600, Yamaha CS60 and CS40. These were made specially for Muon for their upcoming compact disc of patches and multis for the DS404. It will be a must-have library and no mistake! Also heard are the SR202 with one of my kits, and the CM acoustic kit. You will hear Tau Pro and Electron in there as well. I used the rather lovely Voxengo Curve EQ and, of course, Vintage Warmer in the mastering stage. I'm afraid it is in 7/8 and 5/4. These things are known to plague those who see apparitions in their front yards...

PS: You may have to copy the shortcut to your address bar to get it to work...It's kinda longish.

Nice one Scott, makes quite a change from the usual dance-orientated fodder I listen to!

ahhhh... Solida with style. Good job :)

Thanks, guys! Yep, it's a bit different from the dance stuff, and even maybe from the space rock that I usually do with The Prayer Capsule project. Some of my Christus And The Cosmonaughts prog/psych influences and leanings are beginning to show in my instrumentals, I think.

Thanks! That Organ patch, the percussion organ patch in the song and a bunch of others will be on the CM #56 disc. Both as DS404 mulitis/patches, and the raw waveforms too. They are grungy! The M3 I own is well-maintained, but still, it's fifty years old...Of course, the grunge and the dirt is what we love about Hammonds...

Hey Scott, I haven't been able to get hold of you via email for a while now. Everything comes bouncing back as failed.
