Is this possible in ST2.1 ?

Been reading the manual alot lately, but can't find any clue about what I'm trying to do...

I have made samples from some of my H/W synths. The thing is that some of the patches are hard to loop as stereo samples, so I splitted the samples into a Left and a Right channel file (and now looping was easy).

My question is: How do I load these samples into ST2.1? The manual gives examples on how to load samples into various velocity layers etc, but not on how to load the samples panned apart from eachother with the same velocity level.

ex. of my sample names:
CS c4 v0 L.waw
CS c4 v0 R.wav
...
...

Other software based samplers let you 'stack' the samples on top of each other and then simply pan them individual to the desired level. Is this possible in ST2 ?

EDIT : I know it is possible to put the samples on different parts, pan them L&R, and use the same midi channel to play both parts. Problem is that this will eat twice the cpu since I have to use the same set of effects on both parts....

Also interested if there is a possibility to modulate the sample start position randomly ?

I'm pretty sure you'll have to combine the left and right samples back together using a stereo wave editor. If the two sides have different loop points, then the resulting instrument might not sound as you intend anyway - the two sides would go out of phase and you'd get a greatly-distorted stero image.

It sounds like you should be using a plugin instrument dedicated to creating your own sampled instruments. SampleTank2's sample import feature is nice to have, but it's no substitute for something like Kontakt or Halion.
