if you guys had to do mixing for ENYA which reverb plugin would you guys use for her vocals.

I have my ears on these three plugins.

1.Wavearts Masterverb
2.Artsacoustic Reverb
3.Sonic Flavours R66 Reverb (i find this rather weird but interesting)

which one would you guys recommend me ?

Wizoo W2, cos I'm a convolution fan, but I like the warmth/wash (to my ears) it adds... Go listen to the audio demos @ wizoo.com for yerself

Waves Ir1

or

Lexicon Pantheon.

Yeah, yeah, I know a lot of people hate the Pantheon but I really like it for some things.

The warm washy sound that Ambience is capable of is pretty sweet, too. Have to admit, I haven't a clue about the ones you actually referred to, though. :hihi:

Enya's sound?
Five instances of each.
The following statement is true.
The previous statement is false.

Come to think of it, Enya's engineer probably uses no reverb at all :) I mean after the 200th overdub (wall of sound) it'd just blur everything even more!

Post

I'd love to know what reverb Enya's engineers do use - I would presume its some expensive hardware to get that spaced out effect. Same goes for George Michael on "Jesus to a child"

"Vocal harmonies are at the centre of what we do, absolutely – and I use a phenomenal amount of reverb on the sound. In fact, I still don’t think there’s enough. A company called Lexicon have finally come up with a reverb I might use from now on, the 4ADL, and both the Alesis Company and Roland have developed some amazing equipment. In fact I might use a combination of all three of those for the next LP. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see what happens."

Nicky Ryan, Enya's producer.

That looks kinda old... "27 year old Eithne Ni Bhraonain"... :) She's more like 44 now :)

And the 4ADL really is 480L, which is a 6 grand Lexicon unit without the LARC.

yeah ambience sounds good....but the reverb trail sounds a bit fake...id like a smooth fading trail...masterverb sounds good...but kinda complicated for a beginner like me. and convolution is not made for me........and for my pc..what other good plugs can u guys recommend ?

If you've got no CPU, as ResonantOrder said, Pantheon is your next best bet, but it is synthetic, still, it models a real Lexicon :)

I'd still recommend SIR. I've gotten some of the best reverbs out of that and a delay plugin.
