Yo y'all:
I will be posting free samples on a monthly basis from now on at www DOT texasmusicforge DOT com. These samples will be outtakes from the production of music and soundtracks for our monthly audio magazine.
The first batch of samples are a continuation of our Bent Reeds harmonica series. BentReeds2 files are all performed on a modified Hohner Marine Band in A minor and recorded dry through a large diaphragm mic. These are all Acid-ready .wav loops or one-shots recorded at 92 bpm. The loops are rhythmic 2 or 4 bar samples. The music they were recorded for had a loose downtempo feel and they are played with a lot of "swing" and with a behind the beat feel. You can download the .zip file at:
http://www DOT texasmusicforge DOT com/music/samples/BentReeds2.zip
We still have the preceding harmonica sample pack, BentReeds1, available for download also at:
http://www DOT texasmusicforge DOT com/music/samples/BentReeds1.zip
Those are all done at 150 bpm and would work well as part of House or other dance music production.
Bon appetit, and best regards from Austin, Texas.

I'd love to, but the spambots will harvest my website if I post a direct link here. I found out the hard way that the spam on my website server increases whenever I publish a direct link in a public forum to give anything away.

Thanks for the props, amigos. I have a variety of instrumental outtakes from the various stories and music I do for our monthly audio mag. Like, for example, I've got a half dozen snippets of a vaguely Mediterranean-sounding theme played on a mandolin that would make great music for scene changes in a soundtrack or as stingers for a podcast. If anyone is interested, I'll make them available along with the harmonica loops.

If you've been here (and you apparently have) you know that means both the guitarists AND their girlfriends...LBN wrote:TexasMusicForge wrote:So true. And each of them is in five bands.

If anyone is interested in hearing the music the BentReeds 2 pack was created for, Texas Music Forge has published our February issue which has this music as a free Mp3 download.
The music is a spoken/sung version of Shakespeare's 116th Sonnet in a Tom Waits meets James Earl Jones delivery over a basic jazz shuffle. Any of you interested in production techniques might want to check out the texture the harmonica pieces bring to the party.

Uncle Ed, I´ve made a little something with your BentReeds loops. I´ll post it tomorrow on The Auditorium. Today I´m tooooo tired : I´ve recorded until 3 last night and today I´ve had another struggle with cement, sand and water... .. .
Greetings to your better half and the dogs.
