I'm thinking of buying Garritan Personal orchestra
and i was wonderin if i could load my old MIDI songs into the kontakt player that comes with the package
and edit the new soundfonts for the songs? This is directed to those with the software.

Yes you can do that. Some tweaking required:
1. You will have to assign bank and patches manually as GPO does not support general midi patch numbers.
2. Use Markleford's (tencrazy) velocity to cc mfx to open the expression. If your files already has expression in, re-route it to cc1 with Markleford'd cc map mfx.
