VST output question in Cubase SX 3

Ok, I'll jump to my real life example.

If I add Absynth 3 to my VST Instruments list, the name appears "Absynth 3".

Now, I have two questions.

1.) Is there a way to change it so that when I add a new Absynth it doesn't appear as "Absynth 3 (2)" and "Absynth 3 (3)". That naming scheme always gets me confused. Can I name my VSTs?

2.) Everytime I make an Absynth 3, there are 3 different outputs in the mixer. So, say I add my first Absynth. The name is Absynth 3, and there are 3 channels in the mixer for it, all named Absynth 3. Only the first channel makes any sound. Can I have those other 2 channels not even be made? Or do I have to just hide them.

1.) I don't think so.
2.) The Absynth 3 is surround capable. I don't have Absynth 3 but isn't there a Stereo version you can load?
It seems you're loading the surround version.
