I would feel desecrated and raped if I went anywhere near iLok.
Think I'll just DIY meself a real SSL instead.

We will probably demo them at the university next week. I'll report back then and try to add some clips to the compressor thread.
Cheers!

I'm not usually a sucker for this stuff, but Christ do I want these plugs to actually be good...
Not that I can demo them anyway.

Anyone who pays $1600 for three plugins is gonna want 'em to sound good no matter what

it's $600 or less for the native plugs. (http://audiomidi.com)krushing wrote:Anyone who pays $1600 for three plugins is gonna want 'em to sound good no matter what

For that 600 extra you get *true* TDM support (not just silly RTAS native). That means better sound actually. It's the same with most of the waves plugins, the TDM versions use the motorola DSP and apparently waves doesn't know how to do good native code.el davo wrote:it's $600 or less for the native plugs. Could be I'm wrong with the new plugins, but most likely not as it's always been like this with waves.

I'm sorry but it's not bullshit, me and bmanic did some tests and he has the audio available.
I'll ask him to put them online, as the difference can be easily heard. (RTAS vs. TDM) I don't want to start a debate as I full well know what the truth is and can prove it.
This is not some academic summing crap either, and waves research and development confirmed it (but the information is not available to public obviously).
Not that I would buy these plugins, or want to support waves in any way, just an observation really.
