Cubase SX 3 - stopping auto-monitoring?

When I click record, or stop, or a variety of other buttons, the Monitor button automatically turns on. So if I'm trying to like..record audio, I play the audio, hit record and then monitor turns on and it f**ks up the sound and I have to try again. Or I hit Stop and monitor turns on and f**ks up the audio really bad. It follows the record button and the stop button and I don't want it to. I can't find anything in the manual cause this is a random little issue. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about?

Check if you have "Direct Monitoring" checked off in Devices/VST Multitrack. Turn it off, that should fix it.
I don't know why monitor goes on; the same thing happens here, but I do use Direct Monitoring sometimes.

You nailed it almost. I finally found it after you said the VST page. It's called "Auto Monitoring". Had to set it to "Normal". Which isn't default for some reason lol.bduffy wrote:Check if you have "Direct Monitoring" checked off in Devices/VST Multitrack. Turn it off, that should fix it.
