Hi all,
I am looking for a (vst) bit crushing effect with midi cc control - any pointers would be much appreciated. I am aware of the cubase standard bitcrusher, but there should be something more sophisticated...?
thanks, isdjan

I love soundhack's +decimator VST.
I seem to recall when it came out being "musically-tuned bitcrushing" which it sort of is.

thats for that hint.
p.s.: bit crushing cought my attention just recently, due to excessive (ab)use on the latest depeche mode album
i'd guess they might have used reaktor extensively again?

Ugo metallurgy is a nice one , it's not free (20$) but worth it very much , it has two seperate bitcrusher each in 3 modes. there are another good free bitcrushers which i can't remember their name, especially one with multiband bitcrushing.

HiLofi has a couple that are really nice:

(the later is a ring mod...haven't fooled with that one, but if it's anywhere near as cool as "Multiband Bitcrusher I" it's worth keeping in the toolbox!

I've made a synthedit bitcrusher that does more than just bitcrushing.
www.sourceforge.net/projects/jbmvstdesigns
The plugin is called JBM Lofi and has some other cool features included.

many thanks so far - gotta get it sorted. I tried the +decimate and tobybear's so far - while I prefer the 1st one sonicwise, I like the midi CC operation of the tobybear one.
as i mentioned the latest depeche-mode album. anyone could hook me up with a production notes link maybe?
