Just heard that the rumors are true:
Coldplay's "Talk" (their new single)
nicks the riff from Kraftwerk's "Computer
Love" (apparently done legally):

I hadn't heard the Coldplay track that uses the Kraftwerk riff till this thread
came up on the 313 list (had only heard rumors).
If anyone wants to compare:

My wife (knows Kraftwerk, not Coldplay) just heard me play the
comparison and she said "Kraftwerk should sue". I hope Kraftwerk
get tons of royalties from this.

I realy want to back coldplay up, they are a great band..but it seems they have ripped kraftwerk off.

Unless they got kraftwerk's permission of course.

They got permission for that one. Wrote a letter (no fax ,phone or internet in KlingKlang) in German no less and asked.

Coldplay are shit, and that's coming from a deaf, dumb mute. Really, they are so bad their music vibrates badly. Politik is ok though, that made my tummy rumble.

coldplay has decent talent, they just went the mainstream route, which I would prolly do if I were in their shoes. that said, parachutes is the only album of theirs that i like...
