Hi everybody,
I need 31 band graphic EQ plugin like GRM: http://www.grmtools.org/quicktour/vstqtst/equalize.html
Anyone know any free or cheaper alternatives? I need to find this kind of EQ for my PC DAW as well as my Mac laptop. Waiting your advises...
Best,
earthlinger

This one is really good, I use it quite a lot. It's linear phase though, so it might be overkill depending on the use you have in mind...

Yes, all bands (plus general controls) should appear as automatable parameters within your host. Don't know much about Live automation but I'd say it should be more than enough for the task.
Regarding smex, you could try this one:

sorry, couldn't resist... don't know any graphic EQs from anybody at smex, but of course I don't know everything

That guy gave away a free one, but I cant find it. If you PM him I'm sure he'd help.
