does anyone have experience with Microsofts Desktop Search Tool on a PC DAW?
I really love it's super fast search engine, but I'm afraid it might interfere with the DAW system....

Do you have any experiences?
Do you think it's going to start indexing while bouncing long audio files or recording

Do you really need it, and does it do something different/extra than the standard F3 "find file" does?

So avoid it like the plague I'd say. Just my opinion ...

All these desktop search programs work in the background, indexing all the stuff that goes around on your machine. I would stay away from any such resident working software on a DAW. Instead, if you need something a bit more powerfull then windows basic 'find file' then google for 'agent ransack', it's a freeware program that can do regular expressions and stuff when searching for and inside files on your machine.
