How to do this, that and the other. Share, learn, teach. How did X do that? How can I sound like Y?

I don't think you can record a Rewire device in Cakewalk HS4 (or Music Creator for that matter). It doesn't let me record Reason when Rewired... only exports the finished mix and only if it already contains audio. Thems the breaks for cheapish software. The manual says nothing about doing this, so if it were possible I would assume it would be in here somewhere.

I don't think I could ever do it in ProTools, either. But I don't recall ever trying.
Gear list: Sony micro tape dictaphone, shares in Behringer and elastic bands.

Try creating another audio track and recording on that. I don't remember the exact settings I used but I believe I used the soundblaster output as the input for the extra track, run rebirth and record onto the extra track. I just finished a song using rebirth for drums and bass lines and recorded them as clips.
