How do I do this in Cubase SX3?
eg. I want to be able to play a vst instrument with a controller, and at the same time be able to use the knobs on the controller to control a effect plugin on that same vst.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

i just realized that i may have not been quite clear on what it is that i'm trying to do here... let me clarify...
I have a vst/midi channel running vanguard. In the effects for vanguard I'm running frantic, along with a few others. What i want to be able to do is play vanguard with the keys on my keyboard controller, and use the knobs on my controller to control the filters on frantic. I've already assigned the controllers for frantic, so the same controller won't try to control vanguard simultaneously... Thanks again for any input!

Controllers can control any number of instruments/effects/devices. Can't they? So isn't that what you want? Two things being driven from the same controller. Just use the same controller on two different MIDI tracks.
Obviously if your knobs are mapped to controls in both things, you'll want to disable that in one thing or the other. So they keys will play the instrument and the knobs will play the effect.
