All this talk of experimentalism :hihi:

As a finishing touch to the audio-manglery of this past week I figured why not create an audio-loop. So from within an eXt enviroment I made a feedback loop with arcDev's DubbBox (audio-out to in through the mixer). To bring some excitement to the chain I inserted two stompboxes (Boss HM2 and RV3) and just let it run while twiddling.

Cut into 4 pieces and applying only a tad bit of eq'ing and stereo-expander (with different settings on each part) here are 4 sides to a circle wrapped into a zip-file. Playing it in a row you'll hear the full recorded run.

Mind your ears though 8)

PS: I could offcourse gone further and make one track with the 4 separates but at the moment my own sinusses are too cluttered; plus I couldn't be a**ed really

dronish, you know what i like..

That stereo expanding was a nice idea. It started (notice, "started") to separate the parts in a way making feedback insteresting for a change.

hmm.. i could turn my mp3 player to a noise masking device now :O

Cheerz noki :D

I must admit to have had some doubts during the day if I shouldn't have taken the concept further with more tools, but I chose to keep it simple (hmmmm, well simple :hihi:)

Such divine sounds, Mark.

I like the 4 clips in the zip, made it a bit of a treasure hunt.

Cheerz Steve; with all the experimentation-talk going on somehow this project formed inside my head and it was done before I knew it

Post

I can see how that might happen.

Not sure I get what everybody's on about with experimentalist chatter. Seems like ten people arguing about different things, all focused solely on themselves.

Really love where these clips go, the final half of inside was unexpected.

I don't understand the idea of chopping it up and zipping it...

But this is really great! Perhaps among your best work. Stellar.

(And I'll come by shortly with stomp boxes + trumpet - promis).

stomp boxes + trumpet - promis = ????

the anticipation is killing me.

There is some thought behind the chopping-concept here Thomas;
As a reaction to the experimental talk of late I created this. For me experimental means thinking/acting outside the box; and as a box has 4 sides I overlayed the concept of a feedback-loop (a circle) on the boxed concept. This was I must say though made rather very intuitive (the chopping) with a bit of pre-thought going into it.

:oops: Thank you

I just saw a pic of your collection of stomps :shock:
Looking very much forward to finally meeting up 8)

As is mine :hyper:

And with so many views and so little words;

Single bump :oops:

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. An almost religious intensity to this droning mass, too many magic moments to enumerate, but the breakups in the sound from time to time (shutting pedals on and off?) signal the tonal shifts perfectly and keep it all from being too lulling.

Post

Cheers J, for some reason I knew you'd enjoy this one :)

Your words are like the crowning of this piece, so for that much appreciation, since this is your field of strongpoint and I am merely taking investigative steps.

The breakups are made due to switching presets on the Boss RV3, which ultimately helped using them to break up the piece easier.

i'm downloading now mystahr :D
