This is a claim by Extreme Sample Converter.
(Built-in VSTi Converter. Converts from virtual synth plugin to any sampler format.)

What does that mean? Can someone give me an example? has anyone tried it yet? What happened?

It means it plays and renders notes from a vst and maps the samples to a new sample set for you (cool stuff!).

Yes, you load a VSTi instance of your choice, then instruct ESC to quasi 'rip' the sounds off the VSTi and convert it to sampler format you desire. That's it. Yes. :wink:

And Arguru's DirectWave does the same b.t.w. for it's own DW format, as does the HighLive (was it the name?) from discodsp.com too. Yah. :)
<edit> HighLife was the name -> http://www.discodsp.com/highlife/

If you own FLStudio then you might get DirectWave for an affordable price. It's a nice sampler & and VSTi jack-the-ripper in one thing.

I would go the EXSC route... their upcoming sampler also looks to be a revolution if it does what it says in the tin (well in their website, in this case):

* IQ Ultra Fast Engine - probably the fastest in the VSTi sampler's world - beats everything !!!, IDEAL for live performances and laptop users where low CPU usage and stable work is very important.
* 16, 24, 32-bit support at any samplerate.
* Supports Dimensions, Keyswitching, Cycle Ribbon, Cycle Random, Crossfading.
* Dynamic Disk Streaming, also possible with 0 ms preload time.
* Fast & Direct access to different formats, plays them directly from disk without any reconversion to HD.
* VSTi format (other formats will come in).
* 16 Multi Timbral, 16 midi inputs freely configurable.
* Multiple Outputs (32 mono / 16 stereo) with Mixer to controlling all multi parts.
* Built-in HD Browser with Drag & Drop functions.
* Complete MIDI integration with General MIDI support.
* Virtual keyboard, you can see structure of loaded sounds.
* Multiple instances and Low Memory usage (each instance shares the same program resources). Each instance adds 512 voices which gives you unlimited polyphony.
* IQ Sound Edit - one touch to controlling different sound parameters in real-time.
* Independent Save, Load, Archive options.
* Quick start and ready to work in a one second.
* and much more surprising possibilities ...

I'm anxiously waiting for a demo of this thing.
The mind boggles.

Yes, it's a pity that a demo is not yet available, cause they have price drop till 1st of march, with both the sampler & ESC.

I mean it's a little risky at the moment without knowing anything about the sampler VSTi and I don't want to buy a pig in a poke.

Chainer does the same thing, think they call it export.

One question. If you buy now, will you get the new version for free?

Mike,
If you are referring to ESC, then I am pretty sure all 3.x upgrades are free for V3 owners.

Risky?

- It will 20 Euros only for people who got EXSC3 before March 1st (me!)
- It is from a developer who I trust and respect
- Feature description has already been posted, and I like it (a lot)
- Demo is supposed to be out next month, and you don't have to pay until it's available

Risky is not exactly the word here :shock: :D At least for me

Yes, with 'risky' I mean I cannot make myself any conclusion about it till 1st of march (and it even makes it more difficult without a screenshot of the sampler). And I have a sampler VSTi and am not sure about a second one. :wink:
