Hello KVR
I have just slapped an ugly GUI on my first VST project. I would appreciate it if y'all would give it a download, tweak a few sliders, and post some suggestions, critiques, etc... and tell me if it doesn't work in your host. OSX only, atm.
http://music.calarts.edu/~asomers/apps/ ... 030606.zip
It the result of a two week self-teaching experience with C++, and I recognize that I have much to learn (which is very exciting). So don't bash it too hard if you just don't like it.
Thanks,
Adam

For getting people to download your plugin and see if it works, it would be helpful if you were more specific on what it is all about.

I'll try it after I get a little sleep. I will be able to try it in Peak Pro 5 and Tracktion 2. If I had a VST wrapper I'd try it in Digital Performer (uses AU or MAS, no VST).

It is set up like a delay, but instead of constantly playing back time*sr samples, it will play a random number of samples within the range "size". This is analogous to max grain size in a ganular synthesizer. "Start" refers to a constraint of the one second buffer to play samples from or record samples to.moppel wrote:For getting people to download your plugin and see if it works, it would be helpful if you were more specific on what it is all about.
I have been using it with 100% feedback on gated input sources to repeat audio in an arythmic manner.
Thank you for your time,
Adam

Worked fine in Tracktion 2 (latest release). Played around with the settings on drums and bass tracks. Occasionally it sounded like the delays were getting distorted although I wasn't anywhere near a high level. Seemed to be light on CPU usage, and I didn't notice CPU usage change at all when adjusting settings. In Peak Pro 5 with the latest updates, I couldn't get the GUI to fully draw itself - I could eventually get the sliders to show up after finding the right place to click in the blank GUI window, but no labels or anything else. Please note that I have had this problem with other VSTs in Peak Pro 5, some of them commercially available. AUs seem to work better for me in Peak. I also noticed that the delays were more distorted in Peak Pro without coming near overloading on the meters.
I like the plugin and can see it being useful.
I am using a Powerbook 17-inch 1.33ghz, 2gb ram, M-Audio Firewire 410, Two external 7200rpm firewire drives attached to a pcmcia firewire adapter. Stock 4200rpm internal drive. OSX 10.3.9.
