I see Waves is offering 20% off their Diamond Series - I've been in maketing before - It appears to me they wouldn't be doing it if sales were good.
Are they realizing their position is not what they'd like it to be?
Could it be because others are gaining ground?
Or...are they fixing to come out with some really new stuff?
Your thoughts?
God bless

They're making money on the WUP thingie instead.
Lower the price of the plugs and make more money on WUP.
My theory.

No, there are always dips in sales, especially for software since software ages terribly (the market constantly upgrades and comes out with better things all the time) and it's very hard to sustain it's value in such a saturated market. You'll see this type of thing all the time, most of the time it's a natural result of the market.
So yes, I'm sure if you were to look at their sales figures for Waves Diamond Series, they've dropped, but I'm sure it hasn't surprised Waves in the least and they've always expected it.

maybes it because theres to many good alternatives around like a UAD-1 for example much cheaper and IMHO better.

On the flip-side, Waves just raised the price of their SSL 4000 Collection by a ridiculous amount. We can talk marketing, cost adjusting, or any other reasonable explanation, in the end they're just @$$holes.*

Considering their marketing practices & the badmouthing I have seen WUP getting all over the place, plus the fact that the waveshell seems problematic with a few hosts I reckon (& hope) that they may have been & are continuing to lose sales.
That WUP business is an excellent scam, obviously the sulphorous brain fart a true marketing subgenius had whilst he was (to quote Bill
Hicks) sucking satans cock.
There's no need to go into detail about WUP really is there?
