I have a vocal sample, cut out of an original track. If you onow cubase then you know that whenyou ciut a sample out of a track, if you were to pull the endpoints, the rest of th track would be expoosed, as if the sample isnt actually cut out, but just the location of the sample plays. If that makes sense, Im in a hurry, cant explain better than that. anyways, i want to time strtch this particular sample, located at 17.2.3, and is about an eigth of a bar long, I want to stretch it to a bar, using Cubes timestretching algorhythms (whichever one gives me the weiordest effect)but when I do, the sample doesnt stretch, instead it show the original extra music, as if Im just stretching the edit window, but not the sample. I hope this makes sense. does anyone know how to work this out right, so that just the sample gets stretched? thanks in advance!

I may not entirely understand but if you are using the timestretch dialog to stretch your clip, I think you may need to "bounce" the part of the audio you want to stretch. If you merely cut a part of the original audio to separate the part you want to stretch, the resulted clip will still contain all of the original audio - only its start and end positions are different. To make it a completely independent clip, you should use the Bounce selection function. I think it's in Audio -> Bounce selection.
The arrow tool has three different variations, one of them is a stretch tool. Using it you can manually stretch audio and midi clips to a length you wish, this way you don't have to use the timestretch dialog. In Cubase Preferences you can specify which algorithm will be used for the stretch tool.

If you didn't already know, Bounce selection is handy tool since you can also combine several audio clips into one on an audio track.
