Hi Guys
Well i finally got to sit through some of these loops and i ran into a couple of things.
The main thing i found on my disk here is that the Aiff Loops and the Wav loops of the exact same file are playing at slightly different pitches here. This happens in Soundforge or any other player that i play them on.
Is it me and my system, or what is going on here.
Strange, i just can't figure this out.
The only other comment i have so far is that it is a tedious set to install what you want from, as all the formats are in the same folders etc so it requires alot of manual work so as not to have wav and aiff installed as i really don't need that.
Not complaining ...just been trying to sort these issues. The tuning thing has me boggled.
Anybody?
Paul

I agree on it being better to separate by format. We'll have to do that in the future. As to the tuning, that's a good question. Shouldn't be the case and there must be a work around. Unfortunately, I am going to be away for 2 weeks (Frankfurt and then I am going to visit Many Too Many cool people
that's all I can say about that
). However, Chris is the "loop manager" at the office. His email is cjackson@sonicreality.com and either he or dan@sonicreality.com can look into these things and check themselves and give a solution. One of them can perhaps post in here as well (although they are so busy working that they don't go on the internet that much).
We have a free downloadable update with more stereo rex and wave files that should be up very soon (I have it in my hands ready to go, it just needs to be uploaded). These are British Rock and Classic Rock grooves plus additional "variations" of loops from Nashville, MTown and Blues. Hopefully that will make some people happy.
In addition to that we are cranking away at "Mini ProFiles" of Rex (and possibly Apple Loops and Wave file sets too).
We're also working on an updated version of the Studio ProFiles SE for anyone who doesn't want to download the extras and/or wants a reorganized disc (but minus the Sonar sessions because we're taking that off since everything is having a difficult time of fitting... and instead we have 24 bit Apple Loops). That will be free to anyone who bought the Studio ProFiles SE (but you will have to pay just for the shipping if you want it).

Hey Dave
Thanks for the fast reply!
It is just really weird here.... Imagine this...
I baught these mainly to hear the different drummers playing styles and techniques and Drum Tunings etc etc.
I will probably never use them as i mainly just wanted to hear all these guys drumming for my own education.
Now i sit down to listen to the loops and something seems strange in the pitching between the aiffs and the wavs. Now as I said ,.... I just want to hear these guys play as it should be ..... but i have not figured out yet which loop is at proper pitch and why the other is different. I just want to hear the drums as should be ... Can i send you a sample mp3 to hear what i mean?
EDIT: or just try 2 loops a wav and an aiff of the same file and see if you get the same results. I just reformatted the system here so i would like to rule out if that is the cause or if others are getting the same?

When the Supper's Ready.
Hanging out and having a beer with you sounds like a good idea too though.
Many, yes you are right. We're going to have to update the Apple Loops because somehow the pitches were off in the conversion. We're using our own proprietary RAW software to do it so it needed some tweaks.
In the meantime, the Waves are the correct pitch (as are the rex). Thanks for pointing this out.
