Universal VST patch manager?

Hi all
I searched high and low for a universal VSTi patch manager - nothing. I'm thinking of something along the lines of the good old Sounddiver or Soundquest Midiquest, but for VSTi's instead of hardware boxes.
Looks like NI Kore could do this, but $500 for just this functionality is kind of steep (don't think I'd use any of the other features or the hardware controller).
So, anything else out there?

tobybear's minihost has some nice patch handling features , allowing you to mix and match banks, build banks from single patches etc.
not ideal - but it might fill some of the hole

Hi Auracore....you might like to check out Phrazor(it's a vsti with sub hosting of plugs)from www.sonicbytes.com
It is still in development but you can get a fully functional beta right now and the intro asking price(29 Euro)is miniscule.
You can ask Holger(the Dev)regards further development with particular respect to vsti library management and how these will be handled/improved/added to as development continues. It already lets you create and save a huge amount of vstis and Fx chains with their respective patches, layers and routing which is just one area of it's abilities.
One of the nice things already is that it will interrogate the parameters of the plug and you will see all these nicely laid out with faders for tweaking...just view the plug and you can program the plug and save all the settings along with everything else as a setup....haven't tried yet to see if these automate but the power and control overall is great.
There is also an ongoing thread here at the Sonicbytes forum...http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=129160
Here is some info from Sonicbytes:
Just before the Musikmesse we want to announce our new flagship.
Phrazor allows you to combine, play and sequence your plugins in one intuitive interface:
* Rack style GUI providing 64 Tracks, each with 8 Plugin-Slots
* Build reusable Racks, Sounds, Clips
* Efficient workflow with Drag 'n Drop and customizable Browsers
* Categorize your Racks, Sounds and Clips
* Move your work between systems (Host/OS-independent file formats)
* Semi-Modular Routing
* Horizontal Mixer supporting Sends and Effect Racks
* Provides Sound design on a higher level
* Full-featured Sequencer with Playlist, Pianoroll and Fullscreen-modes
* Ready for Live-Performances providing Snapshots and Scenes
The release is scheduled for April/May '06. A free fully functional Preview version is available for download.
Preordering is possible! Save money and support development with your suggestions!
Regards

scuzzphut, I'll try it, thanks.
Motion, this looks very promising (or should I say KOREish), but it appears that it has everything built into it EXCEPT a patch manager. Anyway, I see there are already posts asking for this feature in the Phrazor thread, so I'm going to post there as well. Maybe I can help to "encourage" the developer to consider it

Hi Auracore.....bank and preset management with the ability to interrogate load and dump sysex/fxp(b)files for building banks/swapping around presets with drag and drop along with more global control with specific library/archiving facilities for the relevant plug similar to Soundiver would really make Phrazor very comprehensive.
For me then being able to say have a setup with 4 vstis or whatever along with associated FX and being able to then open or directly access the library from the plug and D n'D presets/banks onto the plug would be very classy for experimentation and like Kore allow you to think more in terms of overall global sound texture.
Being able to edit and try everything out before and or during sound design in realtime as you go with the compositional strengths that Phrazor offers would allow for very creative fast and intuitive workflow.
Perhaps a purely dedicated editor/library function will be added or is planned.I really need to go over to the Sonicbytes forum and ask.
Hopefully all this will be a consideration and is part of the development plan....even if it can't all be implemented in the 1st official release.
