So there was a copy of Cubase LE (stripped down OEM version) with my tascam us-122 and i've been using it here ant there, mostly for vast array of vst effects I can plug into it, but Im having problems with it when I try to rewire reason into it... For a start when ever I have reason active there is no sound, if i start the track playing from the transport in cubase then switch to reason to change the drum patter or something the audio cuts out, actually it seems like the transport just stops dead and doesnt star again until cubase gets the focus back. Likewise i cant have a subtractor active and play some notes and they wont actually sound until cubase is active, like they just sit in the buffer or something.
On top of that, the info on the propellorheads site says you can control the transport from within either program, however when I have reason active nothing seems to work until i switch into cubase. Not only can i not stop or start playback, but i cant work any of the instruments.
Obviously this is irritating the hell out of me, and basically im wondering if this is maybe just because im using cubase LE? Has anyone had any of these problems using proper versions? Im considering upgrading to a better version but if im going to have the same problems i wont waste my money. Am I just doing things wrong? IS that the way its supposed to work (I hope not because that would be stupid)....
Basically I want to be able to hae the mixer app open to use vst effects and mix in my friends guitar etc etc and still play the instruments in reason properly... if cubase wont do it is there somethign else that will?
Thanx
K.

Uhncheck the 'release ASIO in background' checkbox in the device setup, and that will stop Reason going quiet when Cubase has lost focus.
