I made this thread because I read some posts on this forum that people are
experiencing crashes. But the posts were spread in several different threads.
So I thought it would be nice to have a thread which you could report the crashes
and posts not spread across the forum.
If we have one thread that we could report crashes,
then we might be able to find other users who are having similar problems,
and maybe findout a work-around for it

I'll just copy-paste my problem which I posted in another thread.

Is anyone having success using AT2 with DP4 ?
The examination goes fine, but when it says "Gathering info Amplitube 2",
it crashes. This means that DP crashes on startup.
One thing that is bothering me is that the examination went fine,
but while the examination, there was an error that said I didnt have the
protection device pluged in. But it was pluged in the Power Mac G4 USB port.
So I pressed "retry". And after that the examinaiton finished without problems.

So I have a feeling that this maybe caused by the dongle.
It would be nice to hear from DP users too.

Edited: Oh sorry. I just read putte's post and realized I didn't post my specs.
DP4.52 and OS 10.3.9. I'm using a USB Hub,
but tried the USB port on my Mac just incase, but nothing changed.

.. whenever i have AT2 in a song it crashes Logic after shutting logic down.
and: it doesnt get validated here.

specs: osX 10.3.9 .. Logic 7.1.1 ..

It looks like there aren't many people who are experiencing crashes.

Are there any people who are able to successfully run Amplitube 2 with DP?

No crashes here, I am on WK2.

Andrew,

I've never heard of WK2 before. Is it a sequencer?

It looks like it runs on Cubase and Logic fine, besides crashing
while using it. But Digital Performer doesn't even start running

I'm having exactly the same problem. I've contacted ik multimedia several times but they don't know what the problem is and neither does MOTU.
I have been able to run the program with ProTools on the same setup, (albeit with some glitches)
BTW my setup is:
G5 imac OS X.3.9 1.8 Ghz
Digidesign 002
Digital Performer 4.6 and 4.6.1
ProTools 6.7
downloaded latest version of LLC from website.
downloaded Amplitube 2.1 from website that is supposed to fix some problems with DP but it had no effect on the problem.

Its good you have another option.
I installed the newest version, Amplitube 2.0.1 which I downloaded from the
users area 2 weeks ago, but haven't been able to use it....
They should remove Digital Performer from the compatibility list until they
figure this thing out..... I wonder what all those months of waiting were....
Now its out, but it doesn't even startup...

We have tracked down the issue to 10.3.x, we are workig on this now to see why just 10.3.x seems to do this and not Tiger in most cases.

I really hope this update would be released soon.
Its already been 2 weeks.

Its almost going to be 1month since the release of
Amplitube 2, which I haven't been able to use all this time.
How many more weeks is it going to take?
It wouldn't be that frustrating if it were a few bugs,
but I can't even start it up because it crashes on startup.
And I heard that this problem has something to do with the dongle too.
I think its really not fair that legal users have to deal with these
kind of problems which come from copy-protection...

Yes yes, I hope you all wait a really long time before your bugs get fixed, if at all, and that it still doesn't work right, and that the dongle periodically refuses to work basically killing any sort of mode you're in because of it.

In the meanwhile, I'll be using the free Simulanalog suite, which cost me nothing, doesn't use intrusive copyright protection, has no bugs (or at least none that I ever encountered), is easier to use, and sounds just as good if not better. Oh, and it doesn't use some plasticized human that calls herself a woman for advertisement.

I wonder how many more months I'd have to wait for this update.
I'm begining to think of switching to Guitar Rig... At least it starts up properly....
Ampltube 2 just sits there in the HDD eatsup space and everytime I try to start it up,
it crashes, so does nothing.
And I've already waited for more then a month.
