Hi all,
I'm searching a plugin that could select the input based on the quietest input signal. It is possible under Bidule to do it, but it crackles alot because there's no attack and release options.
Any advice would be very apreciated.
Thanks

Why would you want this? Just a look at your level meters in your DAW will tell you if you have a noise issue on a particular input channel.
Are you making music? Or is this some experimental or scientific data logging application?
If you are making music, you shouldn't need to choose a quiet channel. All your channels should be quiet, otherwise upgrade your preamps or A/D converters or otherwise solve your noise problems.
I can't think of any valid musical reason to even consider a plugin that does what you are asking for.

It's something like a gate, but the difference is that the target singal is not zero, but the second signal. Also the detector wouldn't be a rms level (or whatever), but the diference between the two signals. Sounds easy?

OK - so you want the Difference between two tracks? That's Mid/Sid processing - Voxengo has a MS encoder/decoder you can use. Or simply invert the phase on one track and mix them together.

It should be fairly easy to build this in Bidule, using an envelope follower to give you your attack and release settings...pluginnow wrote:Hi all,

What you attempt to get sounds to me like a compressor with sidechain, like used by some radio DJs. When he talks, then the music goes softer but gets loud again when he shuts up. Maybe look into that...
