I notice Amplitube 2 has a Pitch Shifter and Harmonator in the form of a "stomp" effect AND Rack effect...what's the difference?

They sound identical to me.
The one difference (beside the location) is that the one in the rack is stereo and you can pan (and volume) each voice separately.

It's a gimmick FX, I don't think I will ever use it.
If I want harmony I can just play it or even record each part separately for a much better result.

Might come handy for someone playing on stage.

As far as I can tell you can not get rid of them while tracking live.
