paging thru presets - the artifacts are from mp3 process. promise

(i wavd @ 96k)

depending on source audio might get a little bit of dc offset popping & s&h rate since this doesn't account for the latency of the filter (used for pitch detection.. prolly best not to touch the filter params)

but should be ~useful

i forgot to add one-shot :p (think another f/w does that tho :p )

Any parameter labels? (what increments does rate move in?) right now I'm tweaking blind (to great effect

) and enjoying it, thanks. Some nasty nasty glitch stuff is happening: attempting to tame it melodically right now.

rate -
2 - 1/2m to 1/256m
3 - 1/6m to 1/384 or 192nd :p forget..
0 - either .2 or .25Hz to god knows, but not astronomical

not a lot to it.. sorta left it as a black box since most of the stuff i "could explain" is probably better to play with, eg. the 'L/R' is sorted after the clock pulse so eg. a 3-step with one step off (2 pulses) goes LR-RL-LR.. instead of LR-LR-LR..

only thing apart from that i could say to 'use purposefully' is hmm.. the 'short sustained gate envelope contour' is only effective in L/R mode (cos the 'long gate' is just there to overlap in L/R mode, so short gate makes L/R non-overlapping..)

+ the unmarked button in the middle is sequence randomisation (ergo #of steps function as probability.. random seed is determined by bpm regardless of sync and precise setting of rate knob..)

why?

peaks in voice and i reckon most signals are usually going to be fricatives/contain lots of transients - a single 'audio rate' cycle as such could be any bit of buzzy noise. imo the effect is more recognisable as the source material if you capture a 'tone' cycle.

following this line of reasoning i've made a formant shifter and pitch shifter -

the f.s. is waaay better than smokey joe, not quite omnivox - wavecycle capture not fft, but it's clean apart from the occasional distortion due to lpf for zero crossing, which might depend on source material - i'm going to post that since last time i looked, i oculdn't find omnivox available anymore.

pitch shifter = typical windowing, average quality.. ('v. clean at subtle shifts, has window style grainyness more apparent after ~6 semitones')

mentioning them jic anyone has 'what if a ___ did ???' stuff and oc to attest that a good f.s. can be accomplished with se

and cos sandh is worth bumping :p how'd it go, runagate??

i tried it on a funky comp of drum and slap. sanka showed me what the synth line shoud be. when i re-opened the project, sanka (the better name i use) didn't sing the same tune. i was gonna trade it out for another synth playing the same part anyway

fwiw if you were in that situ but it was where you wanted to use it, try starting the transport again :p

during testing, i found occasionally when i started the audio engine it would 'be all wrong' and capture from the ass end of a waveform and sound very distorted, but ~95% of the time did the 'actual smooth waveform' thing.

there's a step counter inside that counts post-filter zero crossings.. don't know where it was 'miscounting' from :p
