Hi,

I have found that when using some VST effects, they are also placed in the VST instrument lists when attempting to load them. Was wondering if there is any way for me to have them only appear in the VST effects list?

Thanks,
Ian

Which effects? I haven't seen that happen in a long time, not sure if it was something I fixed a few years back or if it is Logic or the VST's fault.

I just installed Glitch today (it's currently in both VST and VSTi lists). Also, the Kjaerhus Classic VST's have also done the same.

I'm planning on installing Glitch tonight, so I'll let you know. I've got a pretty strong feeling it will only show up in the effects dropdown though... Sorry I can't remember if I fixed something way back when.

I'd recommend the unofficial Logic help forum, there's still decent support there for Logic 5 PC; if you don't have it, I'll post the link tonight.

so where is the link? it's now may 12 :D

haha, yeah I always forget to follow up on these things when I get home. I'll get it for you tonight.

Logic will put the plugs in various places depending on how each plugin reports it's features to the host. If the plugin accepts MIDI, then Logic will put it in the instrument list. If it also processes audio, it will be put in the effects list, again according to whether it's mono/stereo etc.
