I see where they have Esoundz have the Ampeg SVX pre-order up on the website. :)

Is there a crossgrade for this software?

If you don't own AmpliTube 2 (or any AmpliTube) then you can get BOTH AT2 and Ampeg pre-ordered here: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... uctID=1402

IF you happen to already own AmpliTube 1 or AmpliTube 1 LE or Live (including the versions that come with ProTools, Cakewalk, Mackie, Emu and other sound cards and systems) then you can get both AT2 and Ampeg SVX for even a little bit less than that here: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... uctID=1403

Not a bad combination!

The ala carte pre-order for Ampeg SVX is here: http://www.esoundz.com/details/viewDeta ... uctID=1400

As usual, esoundz ordered plenty of them in advance from IK to accomodate people right away and not to run out because I think there are quite a lot ordered from dealers and will continue to be by the time it is shipping some time next month. It could even get backordered potentially but if you pre-order it from www.esoundz.com we'll make sure you are one of the very first to get it.

This plug-in is something every producer, songwriter, studio owner etc. should have. It's not just for bass players. It's for BASS. (in fact, it isn't even JUST for bass!).

Plus, esoundz members will be getting a free set of patches for both AT2 and Ampeg SVX that are exclusive. That's coming some time next month as well.

Is there a rough, approximate date for the release now ?
I'm not against a pre-order, as long as it does not turn into a (mental) dis-order... :help:
Meaning, if it's a matter of 4-6 weeks, that's a deal, but if it implies waiting 4-6 months...
So, Squids, are you VERY MUCH optimistic about the shipping date ?
And when are the first mp3s available ? The virtuoso video with a 28-string bass and a healthy tempo of 445 bpm, did not give me a firm idea about what the plug really sounds....

Well, one thing that should give you an idea is that while some stores will allow you to pre-order the day a product is announced at NAMM, www.esoundz.com waits until it is within 4-6 weeks shipping to do it. This is something we've been consistent in during the launches of products like SampleTank, AmpliTube 2 and it will be the same case with Ampeg SVX. Also, if you pre-order it on esoundz you will be one of the first people to get it because everytime a new IK product is released esoundz places a large order well in advance. This is so that we can accomodate our customers even if it went on back order from dealers who decide at the last minute that they should stock up heavily on it because it is a hot product. We are well prepared.

By the way, thanks to everyone who has pre-ordered already! It has only been up one day and it has been a flood of them. I was surprised to see it was even more than AmpliTube 2 pre-orders on the first day! But, maybe that's because some of our customers qualified for the free upgrade for AT2 where there isn't a free upgrade for this. That must be it. Either way, we're happy you're doing business with esoundz and as always we appreciate the support! You'll also be able get some exclusive presets for BOTH AT2 and Ampeg (if you have either) very soon as well just for being an esoundz member. Thanks again from all of us.

One of the selling points on Ampeg SVX was the live IK NAMM demos that I have seen over the past couple of years, and the AT2 Bass presets. AT1 bass presets were good, yet needed tweaking, but the AT2 bass presets are good right out of the box. So imagine what IK's dedicated bass amp software will sound like. :hihi:

OK, that guy playing bass in the Ampeg SVX demo needs to be shot, right now. Jesus.

BEcause he's too good?
A guy with serious GAS and lots of unused VSTs. But if I someday need them...

Hrm, so... if I pre-order this, is my credit card billend when I order or when it is sent from esoundz?

On pre-orders it is billed when you pre-order. That's because we reserve them and pay for them ourselves. We've already reserved a good amount but in case there are more pre-orders than we have ordered we order more knowing that it is paid for (instead of being stuck with potentially a LOT if people changed their mind). So, you're on the line for it. However, it is still an excellent deal and you get it as soon as it comes out of the oven. ;)

Thanks guys for pre-ordering with esoundz! It has been very successful so far and I think this one is going to be a favorite especially since there really are no other contenders for a virtual bass amp plug-in at the moment (and it doesn't get any better than Ampeg for some people anyway).

Looking like mid-May shipping but don't hold me to that. Boxes, manuals, pressing etc. But, the product is done and sounds AWESOME! In fact, there's this whole thing about the modeling of the Opto-compressor of the SVT4 that I want to tell you about at some point that is mind blowingly cool! They really did a phenominal job NAILING it! Everyone I've talked to at Ampeg is just blown away. You know, some of those Ampeg bass amps are over $3,000! It's the Rolls Royce of bass amps. So, an accurate emulation in a plug-in for every system is kind of a staple item IMO. But, of course that's up to you to decide if it is for you. I HIGHLY recommend it (but of course I WOULD anyway... however, I at LEAST recommend getting a great bass amp plug-in and since there really isn't much out there in this category then... there's THIS!).
