Seems every time I turn around, I have to reset the plugins . I can tell when they've disappeared because when I boot up cubase sx3 (version 3.1.1) it starts by telling me it's going to initiate the multimedia driver instead of the usual fireface 800 interface I always have it set up for.
I don't know what happens. All the vst instruments on the list suddenly have !!! as not being found when it's been running fine for a couple of days. All the plugin assignments no longer exists and I have to route everything again. I go to the vst information pull down and there's nothing there anymore.I'm using dual 2.0 amd opteron processors, 2 gigs ram. I dont have problems with anything else but cubase right now. Anybody experience this or have any ideas why this keeps happening?

Given the loss of ASIO and plugins folders, the likelyhood is that the preferecnes are being corrupted. What I have done is back up the whole the \documents and settings\<XP username>\application data\Steinberg\Cuabse SX3\ folder, and if anything gets corrupted then I replace the current one with the backup.
